Buick Canada Joins WeChat Platform
Buick Canada is pleased to announce their Canadian presence on WeChat, a China-based social media platform. A powerful and multi-functional social media app, WeChat is home to over 800 million active accounts globally, with over 70 million users located outside China.
Buick Canada's brand public platform, active as of today, will allow users to catch up with the brand's news.
"Buick has a rich brand history in China, as one of the most premium luxury brands that sells over a million cars every year," said, Mike Speranzini, brand director of, Buick in Canada. "Canada brings together people of all kinds of backgrounds who rely on a diverse set of tools to stay connected in their everyday lives. With so many Chinese Canadians active on WeChat, this social media platform was a natural choice for us to continue the Buick brand affiliation here in Canada."
As part of Buick's introduction to WeChat, the brand will use the platform to take part in Chinese New Year celebrations though mall activations on January 28th with live activations in Toronto and Vancouver. Subsequently, the Buick WeChat account will be a hub of news, promotions and events dedicated to the brand's product line-up, launches and retail offers. The content will be focused on relevance to Chinese audiences, and at a later date the company plans to offer functionality including booking a test drive, connecting with a dealer, connecting with other owners and other member privileges.
