Buick Avista Concept Canadian Premier
This past weekend at The Montreal International Auto Show the award-winning Buick Avista concept made its Canadian premier on the heels of a record sales year and continued portfolio transformation at Buick Canada.
"The Avista is a modern expression of the brand's heritage of sophisticated performance, communicated with beautiful elegance and offers visitors to the Buick display a hint at the future of Buick design," said Vincent Boillot, GM Canada, regional manager for eastern Canada. "It is stunning design like this that is bringing new customers to Buick. In 2016 we saw a record number of new customers coming over from our competitors, historic sales numbers and three brand new vehicle launches with LaCrosse, Encore and Envision. As a direct result, Buick sales were up 21 per cent right here in Quebec."
The Avista concept, a 2+2 coupe, pushes the brand's contemporary design ethos and rekindles its historic performance roots.
A sleek, sweeping proportion is the foundation for this vision of a contemporary grand tourer, with a 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged V-6 driving the rear wheels and a driver-focused cockpit offering a comfortable, connected centre of control.
The Avista's uninterrupted body lines stretch front to rear, suggesting motion – resembling Buick's design language introduced on the Avenir concept and carried into production on the 2017 LaCrosse. The absence of conventional B-pillars between the doors and rear side windows enhances the flowing profile.
