Remembrance Day 2018 Events and Ceremonies in Edmonton AB

Remembrance Day 2018 Events and Ceremonies in Edmonton AB

To Canadians, “Lest We Forget” is more than just a three-word motto – it’s a living testament to those brave men and women who have gone before us and fought for the freedoms and privileges that this country enjoys on a daily basis. Though they certainly deserve recognition and praise every single day, every year on November 11 our entire nation celebrates Remembrance Day, a fitting tribute to all who have served in our Armed Forces. That’s why the holiday means so much to us at Western GMC Buick, and it’s also why we’ve listed some Remembrance Day 2018 Events and Ceremonies in Edmonton AB; stop on by and show your appreciation!

22 KM Rucksack March for Remembrance (November 3rd)

Even if you don’t know what a “ruck march” is, you’ve probably seen it portrayed in movies and other media – it’s basically a 5 or 10K, only you’re carrying a heavy amount of gear and supplies to prepare you for fast-moving combat in the service. In this case, to show solidarity and support for our veterans, Wounded Warriors Canada is sponsoring its very own ruck march through Gold Bar Park in Edmonton. In addition to this, there’s also a fundraiser to go along with the event, so even if you can’t make it, you can still donate by clicking here!
