The 9 Pound Burger

The 9 Pound Burger

We hope you're hungry!

This behemoth burger easily feeds up to 10 or more people which makes it great for sharing, or, you know, ingesting a week's worth of calories in one sitting. Just be sure to grab a knife and fork to tackle this beast!

Ingredients:

Burger Patty

  • 10 lb(s) ground beef
  • 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup seasoning salt
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 8-13 eggs (depending on how thick the grind is)

  • Mayo
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Relish
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • 2 onions
  • 2 4 ½ pound burger patties
  • Cheese
  • 80 piece of cooked bacon

Burger Patty Directions:

1. Mix all of the above ingredients together in a large bowl.
2. Form two 4 ½ pound patties.
3. Place both patties on the grill, medium heat.
4. Cook each side for approximately 10 minutes.
5. Put patties in the microwave for approximately 10 minutes to ensure meat is cooked through.

Final Assembly:

1. Spread mayo, ketchup, mustard and relish on bottom bun.
2. Place lettuce, tomato slices and raw onion on top.
3. Add 4 ½ pound burger patty on top of vegetables.
4. Place cheese and 40 pieces of cooked bacon on top.
5. Place middle bun on top.
6. Spread the top with mayo, ketchup, mustard and relish.
7. Place lettuce, tomato slices and raw onion on top.
8. Add 4 ½ pound burger patty on top of vegetables.
9. Place cheese and 40 pieces of cooked bacon on top.
10. Place remaining bun on top.

One great cooking tip to pass along; consider using a pizza peel to flip your patties on the grill, it makes for a great extra large spatula! Don't know where to buy a pizza peel?  Check out the Wholesale Club or Bed Bath & Beyond!

Happy Grilling!

GMC, Like A Pro!

GMC, Like A Pro!
Earlier this month, GMC debuted “Like A Pro,” a new campaign evolving its “We Are Professional Grade” positioning. “Like A Pro” celebrates GMC vehicles and customers — people who passionately live life to a higher standard. The “Like A Pro” campaign illustrates the core values of “We Are Professional Grade” and shows the emotional connection customers have with their GMC trucks and SUV models.
GMC owners demand vehicles that are designed, engineered and built to a higher standard. For nearly 20 years, GMC has established a strong reputation with “We Are Professional Grade.”
“The values of our dedicated GMC owners are reflected in our “Professional Grade” spirit, whose passion and abilities set them apart, as individuals and with their peers,” said Mike Speranzini, brand director for GMC in Canada. “With this new campaign we look forward to bringing that emotional connection to life, and show how we think our customers live their lives like pros.”
The new ads, filmed in Canada, feature GMC Denali trucks and SUVs — the pinnacle of Professional Grade. The campaign also debuts the all-new GMC Terrain, which launches later this summer. Terrain joins the hot-selling, recently redesigned GMC Acadia in the GMC SUV lineup.
The lead ad, “How Do You Want To Live — Anthem,” will air in 30- and 60-second executions. This new work showcases those who reach higher in everything they do. Leading to Father’s Day weekend, GMC will debut “Dad Like A Pro” in select media, including the final round of a major golf tournament. The 60-second spot gives an inside look at the relationship between a father and his son. The emotional connection in the spot is further enhanced by the casting of a real-life father and son. During the summer, a new Acadia spot called “Third Row Like A Pro” will be added. This spot showcases a parent maximizing the versatility and capability of the GMC Acadia. In unique time-lapsed editing, you see the driver manage three rows, three sports … no problem.
With the popularity of double cab special edition trucks with Canadians, a unique 30-second spot called “Truck Envy”, featuring the Sierra Elevation edition, will additionally air in Canada.
The campaign will showcase the GMC brand across media channels and consumer touchpoints from broadcast television to the showroom floor. Join the conversation on social media using #LikeAPro.

Hackers Wanted!

Hackers Wanted!

GM Canada, along with Ryerson DMZ and Ryerson Futures will host the first-ever GM Canada sponsored hackathon. Dubbed hackAI, the event will run on June 24 and 25, 2017 at the Sandbox by DMZ, Ryerson University. Participating teams, consisting of 2-4 members each, will focus on solving how Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered assistants might change the way we work, move and play in an autonomous age.

Over the two-day period, industry professionals, students and startups will brainstorm, design and create a virtual assistant designed to help enhance the experience individuals have with their vehicles beyond driving. Participants will be asked to dream big and find solutions in creating a virtual assistant to enhance and revolutionize the way they interact with their vehicle, pushing the boundaries of todays assisted interactions to take us to a new era of personalization.

At the end of the hackathon, teams will present their solutions to a panel of industry-leading judges who will crown a winner. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of $3,000 CDN, with cash prizes given to the second and third place teams respectively.

“The future is going to be AI driven and it will impact all of our lives,” said Ted Graham, head of open innovation, GM Canada. “Events like hackAI are the perfect platform to engage with an ecosystem of current and future entrepreneurs and foster out-of-the-box ideas. We’re looking forward to connecting with future talent as we continue to fulfill our mandate of growing to approximately 1,000 engineer and software developers in the areas of autonomous vehicle software & controls development, active safety and vehicle dynamics technology, infotainment and connected vehicle technology.”

“AI is creating a level of connectivity in the automotive industry that promises to bring major benefits to manufacturers and consumers alike,” said Abdullah Snobar, executive director of the DMZ. “While AI automotive applications that involve driverless cars receive the most attention, our hackAI event will enable participants to explore and test what other innovations can drive this evolving market.”

"We are excited for the unique opportunity to bring AI-based innovation together with real automotive challenges," says Alan Lysne, Managing Director of Ryerson Futures. "Along with GM and our partners, we welcome teams from a variety of industries to develop solutions collaboratively and effectively."

Approximately 150 participants, judges and industry leaders are expected to attend.
