Teddy Bear Toss

The Teddy Bear Toss

On Saturday December 5th, The Edmonton Oil Kings will hold their 9th Annual Teddy Bear Toss at Rexall Place. It's the most anticipated home game of the regular season, as thousands of stuffed toys will litter the ice the moment the Oil Kings record their first goal of the evening, in support of 630 CHED Santas Anonymous.

This fantastic promotion is shared by several organizations across Canada. However, as simple as the concept is - it doesn't always go off without a hitch!

For example, last weekend Kingston Frontenacs fans thought their team had just scored, and you can't blame them! Maybe they figured if they threw the teddy bears on the ice anyways, it would help persuade the referees to call it a good goal and carry on with the game.

Goal or not, Kingston still won and the teddy bears were still donated. Another win-win for the hometown fans and the local children.

A Teddy Bear Toss is truly a sight to behold, and there are still several tickets available for this Saturday's game, when the Oil Kings take on The Swift Current Broncos.  So get your tickets, pick up a few stuffed bears and head to Rexall Place for 7pm, it promises to be an exciting evening of hockey action and best of all, it's in support of a great cause!
