Edmonton Area 2015 Remembrance Day Services

2015 Remembrance Day Services  

City Hall

The City and the Loyal Edmonton Regiment will host the Remembrance Day Ceremony at City Hall commencing at 10:15 a.m. followed by a parade and laying of wreaths at the City Hall Cenotaph.  It is requested that those attending be seated by 10:10 a.m. Free parking is available at City Hall.  


U of A Butterdome (89 Ave. & 112 St.)

Ceremony commences at 10:10 a.m. It is requested that those attending be seated by 10 a.m. Lieutenant Governor arrives at 10:43 a.m.  Free parking is available at the Butterdome 


West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace

Jasper Place Branch #255 of the Royal Canadian Legion will host the Remembrance Day service at the Ice Palace, West Edmonton Mall.  The service commences at 10 a.m.  Stores will open at noon instead of the regular opening time of 11 a.m. 


Patricia Park (Gault Boulevard & Greisbach Parade) 

The 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) will host a service at Patricia Park located in Griesbach.  The service will commence at 10:45 a.m.  It is requested that guests arrive by 10:30 a.m.


Maranatha Christian Reformed Church (11905 - 47 St.) / Beverly Cenotaph (40 St. & 118 Ave.)

Church Service commences at 9:30 a.m., followed by a parade commencing at 10:20 a.m. at the church and marching to the cenotaph in time for the service at 11 a.m. 


Kingsway Legion (14339 – 50 St.)

Parade commences at 10:45 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. at the cenotaph (located on the grounds of the Legion). 


Calder Cenotaph / Northwest Seniors Centre (12963 - 120 St.)

Church service commences at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 10:30 a.m. and the cenotaph service at 10:50 a.m. 


Light Horse Park (84 Ave. & 105 St.)

The Church Parade (Holy Trinity Anglican Church 10037 - 84 Ave.) commences at 10 a.m. Those attending are requested to be seated by 9:30 a.m. Following the church service, the parade will march to Light Horse Park. The ceremony at Light Horse Park commences at 10:45 a.m. 


St Albert (Cenotaph on St. Anne Street)

The parade commences at approximately 10:45 a.m., followed by the service at 10:55 a.m.
Millennium Place (2000 Premier Way, Sherwood Park) Service commences at 10:30 a.m. 


Alberta Aviation Museum (11410 Kingsway)

The Ex-Air RCAF Alliance will host a Remembrance Day ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Alberta Aviation Museum. 


Beechmount Cemetery 

On November 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., the No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation will hold its 5th annual Remembrance event at the Beechmount Cemetery Field of Honour, located at 12420 - 104 St. Junior high school students, soldiers and members of the community will unite in a ceremony that involves students placing poppies on soldier's headstones. 


The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum (10440 - 108 Ave.)

The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum. Locate in the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre, will be open to the public on Remembrance Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a brief ceremony with the traditional minute silence being observed at 11 a.m. Free parking is available in front of the building. Due of the new LRT line, access to the Armouries is only available from the west side of 105 St. along 108 Ave.
